Are people who are actually passionate about their job, actually a common thing

I just don’t understand it at ALL, for like 90% of people, their work would lay them off with a second thought the moment a minor recession or problem hits them, so why tf would you ever actually be passionate about any job ever, is this just a dying practice from back in the 50s to 70s or 80s? I understand if you are like a scientist or engineer, or something making a good demonstrable and seeable change in the world, but for most people it makes no sense to me So, excuse me for not knowing anything, but I am a 21m and still in college, and I believe I am normal and hang out with normal people my age also in college So, I am not aware of ever personally meeting a person who was passionate about their work, but that is probably just the position that I’m…

So, I am not aware of ever personally meeting a person who was passionate about their work, but that is probably just the position that I’m in, maybe once I actually get a job outside of fast food I’ll actually meet people like this
