I started a new job two months ago, you're on probation at this job for three months. It was glaringly obvious right off the bat that this was a toxic workplace and I knew pretty quick I wouldn't be sticking around. At the two month mark I had enough, and put in my two week notice. I felt the notice was generous considering I'm still on probation and they spun this probationary period like it was a benefit to me and them. They said either party could part ways at anytime during this time. (Obviously I can leave whenever I want anyway…) so as soon as I put my notice in, I got an email back from my boss that said, “well thats a bummer.” Ok. For a few reasons, my leaving prompted another new person to leave, and they put their notice in almost a week ago. A couple hours after their notice was in, my boss sent me another email asking what happened and said, “it's weird you want to leave so soon… you aren't even off probation.” (And?) He's now organized an emergency meeting and is desperately trying to keep me and other new person. Thing is, if he gave a shit about me he could have tried to persuade me to stay two weeks ago. My last day is tomorrow, and he's coming to talk with me then. I really feel like telling him how tacky and obvious it is that he didn't care at all that I was leaving, until another person was also going.
I'm really trying to keep my composure and not burn a bridge, but i'm struggling!
