I'm an Area Director for a 4 store restaurant market and we are on our way to store #5 by the end of the year. We started put with 3 stores and opened our 4th store just after the pandemic. Im exhausted mentally from this job. I have had 1 raise in over 4 years besides the fact of just how much better these stores have gotten. There was so much theft and other issues here when I first took them over. I have had to canceled vacations, I canceled holidays, I've canceled on my good friends wedding because of how crazy it got here at times. There were weeks I put in 90+ hours and just times I didnt have off for almost a month straight. He has done a lot for me as I have for him it's always the hes done this for me so I will put up with it. Last week was the final straw for me and yesterday just added to it. I was on vacation finally. Market is staffed I have GMs in all the stores and im not working 60+hours a week anymore. Down to my minimum of 50 hours only. There is some not much but some work life balance. Anyways, I was on vacation about towards the last few days. I get a message from the owner to me and the GM of one of the stores asking for some info. I told him I was still on vacation and that if the GM needs help he can ask one of the other GMs who is gonna move up once we get to our 6th store opened. He then asks when do I come back I told him I will be back to work on Tuesday which would make me have to work Tuesday – Saturday and thats a full work week. We start our weeks on Sundays. His next reply was you will be off 9 days in a row? I message him on a seperate text just him and I and told him we spoke about this and when I would be returning but it looks like this is gonna now be an issue. I followed it with you didn't seem to have an issue when I worked 21 straight days before my vacation because we were waiting for inspections. Told him I did nothing wrong and that I only took my vacation plus my 2 days for the following week, and that I was still gonna work my full 50 hrs. He told me we would have a talk once I got back. This was supposed to he Tuesday. We are now Saturday and he has yet to reach out to me or anything. Yesterday was my 4 year anniversary with the company and nothing from him no Thank You or anything. I've already started applying to other places.
