Company about to spend £20m but refuse to fix the mushroom wall.

I attended a site-wide meeting the company gives updating us on what’s going on, progress on guest experiences and what to improve on etc, boring stuff. I was content with being paid to be there, £9.50 to sit doing nothing? Nice. Then a new speaker comes out and is going on some spiel about a new venue. The words “not bad for £20 million, huh?” What. All salaried staff were put on minimum wage in April. Hours are being cut to ‘save money’. Venues are being denied requests for chemicals, cutlery, and FOOD. The wall outside of my venue has been moulding over the course of 6-7 years, mushrooms and other unidentified growth get scraped off instead of fixing the problem. £3m has been spent on new restauranst and we were opened before we each had enough people to staff the restaurants. £20m is going to be spent on the…

£3m has been spent on new restauranst and we were opened before we each had enough people to staff the restaurants. £20m is going to be spent on the new guest experience site. Staffing and maintenance is my immediate concern, but overworking minimum wage employees works for the company I guess.

It’s infuriating.
