Today, I got a text from my boss with short video.
It's a footage of me cleaning the floor.
He sent this footage and accused me “were you cleaning those tiles not properly?”
(The footage contained that I was only cleaning the 1/3 floor that is close to gate.)
I politely stood up for myself like “I clean the entire floor and I clean the area around the door again when I finish it because it gets dirty due to footprints.”
Then he acted like nothing happened without a simple apology for his false accusation.
The thing that creeped me out is he was watching me over security camera to make gotcha moment.
Of course every store has security cameras. I'm aware of that. But I wasn't aware of that he can use it against me eventhough I did my best.
The footage only contained that I swipe the only 1/3 of the floor. He brought that footage to accuse me as bad worker.
which is totally not. I swipe the entire floor in the store. Sometimes I do it again if certain area is not clean as I expected. He supposed to know that. Because I've work at this store over 9 months.
Did he intentionally accuse me? It creep me out more to think that he was watching me over security cameras everytime without me noticing.
Edit to add my rant : I fucking hate him when he try this “gotcha!” Shit. I work everyday for his store and I do my best. I have to finish the cleaning the store before people start to come in. So I wake up at 4:50 AM to get to work. I was never late.
But he sometimes accuses me for not working “properly”. But I'm the only worker in the store. I even have to rush to finish in the right time(because I don't get pay more if I overwork. But I overworked this June.)
So I may miss some those tiny things. But he always accuse me like bad worker that couldn't do his job AT ALL. it's insane because I always report him with photos about the progress and amounts of stocks of snacks and beverages(those are quite many.) And request him what I need for my work(like gears or some tools.)
I requested him to bring more trash bins because where I live, we do have to separate cans, plastics, papers for recycling. All trashes that can be recycled, we have to separate them.
In here, it's quite normal to have several trash bins that can be filed with certain trashes(can, paper, glass, plastic etc) to empty the bins easier and effective.
But he denied my request so I have to put my hands in the bin, then separate them one by one. It's extremely dirty and smelly. It's get funnier if some leftober beverages spoiled in the bin. But I have to touch them anyway.
