Should I sign a NDA?
I work in a really toxic environment. I've had several meetings with my leaders and Human Resources. Nothing has changed in the past few years. I was offered a severance package if I voluntarily resign. It has a Non-mutual NDA in it.
I really need the money while I find other work. However, I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut about any sort of injustice.
I'm wondering if I should sign it and give up my voice or if I should forfeit the severance in lieu of keeping my voice. I want to warn and help others who may think of working for or have worked for this company.
This company has a lot of turnover. There are some bad reviews online that speak to my experience with the company, so I'm not the only one who has issues with the company. The turnover is steadily increasing.
However, I have a family with children and bills to help pay. I don't want that extra stress on my husband. He thinks I should sign it, but his personality is a lot different from mine.
Has anyone signed a NDA after leaving a toxic job? Do you regret it?
Should I just walk away knowing this company will be it's own undoing one day and take confidence in the fact that others are speaking out?
