My girl works for an Amazon location based in Ohio. She drives/delivers packages. I am beyond disgusted to hear that they expect these drivers.. to deliver 200+ packages, in a specified time frame, while abiding by any requests written by the customer upon arrival… and they aren't allowed any breaks.
No lunch, no 10 minute break, these people call you asking wtf your doin if you aren't on your shit every minute of the day. Obviously Ican't be surprised too much… it's a money hungry multi billion dollar cooperation.. I just can't fathom that it's 2023 and this kind of management is even slightly tolerated.
She has recently injured her leg doing this job, as we can't go without the income.. she went back to work today after a week off. One of her first stops the customer just left a note on the order that said “beware of dog”. This big angry looking dog, CHARGES her off the front porch.. forcing her to run full sprint to the van.
So ontop of what I said prior… this company gives not a flying fuck about the FACE of their company. I don't know how loud I have to shout it.. but the whole “customer is always right” mentality should've died years ago. And this kind of employee treatment should have never been allowed in the first place.
Thanks for listening to my heated rant, time to take my girl to the doctors, and file for workman's comp.
Tldr; Ohio and Amazon give no fucks for their workforce, I'm mad as hell. And I hate it here.
