I (28m) just sent my resignation letter to a dead end job I had for 6 months. I got hired thanks to a friend, I was promised a designer position, it has just been data entry and call center duties. I have since found out the company does everything “slightly” out of what is considered legal in my country, just enough that the ceo and upper management can make their millions and our lawyer can always make everyone come out clean.
Even before my letter someone must have spilled the beans to some manager because the general manager, who hired me himself, came to me earlier and told me “I heard you want to leave. Just do it, you don't need to work the two weeks notice period. No one in management likes how you do your job anyway.”
I had some disagreements with my manager before, but I strongly suspect this was because I refused to forge some customers' signatures on documents for two days in a row, after been asked multiple times by multiple people.
I knew quitting was going to be a good thing for me, but the title sentence was a sucker punch to my already fragile self esteem, and now I can't understand how I feel. I did not deserve this.
Fuck this company and fuck how they made me feel.
I can't wait for the revolution.
