I’ve been working for a remote healthcare job for almost a year now.
In the last few weeks we had a meeting in regards to our performances and that pretty much higher ups want more from us.
This caused the group to become frustrated because we have expressed multiple times the lack of training and tools that have been provided to us and the supervisor opened the floor to express our concerns.
With that being said a coworker began pointing out some inconsistencies and contradicting comments my supervisor made and did not take that well. This coworker than left the meeting and supervisor asked again if anyone had any comments
I took this opportunity to voice my concerns in a calm manner until I used the word gaslight
My supervisor than began cutting me off and wouldn’t let me speak. I requested to let me finish my concerns out of respect and they fell on deaf ears.
The supervisor deemed that my choice of words were not appropriate for the meeting and gave me a verbal warning.
I find this comical as the company does have an open door policy.
They tried to chalk it up to how I speak (context I’m from jersey with a thick accent)
And that my tone and select choice of words were inappropriate.
Can I fight this?
