I have worked for a manufacturing company for the past 18 months (salary position). I have recently resigned (and gave 2 weeks notice). Now, my boss told me I need to bring in my passport for HR for “the I-9 audit.” What is up with this? Shouldn't that have been taken care of when I was originally hired? (I believe I showed the documents when I was hired.)
