I know this is more than most people get but I honestly thought that I could expect 10-20% salary increase with a promotion especially since my male counterpart in the same roll I was promoted into makes 11k more. Do I email HR asking to discuss if compensation is flexible??
I live in California so salary ranges for rolls must be available to employees but since we are at a startup they have been “working on the framework” and it should be done in 2 weeks.. 8.5 months into the year and they “almost” have it.
I am someone who is very valuable to the company because the throughput I am capable of and we are a very small. How do I start the conversation without appearing ungrateful?
