I (f21) have decided to quit my job because my manager doesn’t trust me. There was a position that opened to be a lead last week. I have been working as a cook for two years and I know the in and outs when it takes to working in the kitchen. I am a hard worker and very professional when it comes to my work. I am respected by my fellow employees.
I signed up for the position in hopes that I serve my coworkers and improve the place. This was my second time applying for it. The last time I was too young. My manager and boss said that out all four interviews I was the better one. That I would have gotten it if wasn’t my manager doesn’t trust me. I got confuse and asked what you do mean? She reply back last year I said that I was going to join the Air Force but I didn’t. I went back to school instead. She then went on to say that I needed to rebuild her trust. That we’ll talk more about this during our quarterly check in next week.
With this I applied for 13 new jobs today. I can’t stand the fact that I would have gotten it if wasn’t the lack of trust. I have been here for over two years, I crushed the interview, and most importantly I have grown since the first interview six months ago. I have put up with the past manger and the lead that no one liked. I have always expected that my work has been not appreciated me but I now it doesn’t matter. I will be putting in my two weeks notice later this week.
