Done Dirty

So this happened to my neighbor but I had to share it here. My neighbor is a mechanic. Had a job he liked for years. Wasn't looking to change jobs. Ran into a friend who ran a different shop. The friend basically poached him. Offered him more money, benefits, etc. He worked at the friend's shop for 3 weeks and then got laid off. Now at any job that would be bad enough. But he, like most mechanics, has a tool chest that weighs thousands of pounds. He had to pay to move it from his old job to his new job. And now, not only does he not have the new job, he doesn't have a place to store his tools until he gets a new job and can move them there. He's most likely going to have to get a storage unit for a month or two. Which means paying two more times to move his tools. That could well wipe out half the money he made in the 3 weeks of work there.

It's not always corporations screwing workers. Sometimes it's a small guy screwing another smaller guy.
