I know this has probably been discussed and is a repeat topic, but I truly cannot stand it.
At the beginning of the year at an all-hands meeting, my team presented an org chart showing my promotion to the entire organization. All parties above me approved this org chart. Come raise/promotion month, surprise, I was given no raise and no promotion.
I asked all parties involved what the deal was, and they said the org chart was “a long term plan” and “now was not the time” — obviously I immediately started looking for jobs.
I had multiple meetings with higher ups to discuss when I would be at the very least getting the raise I deserve for the amount of work I do, especially compared to the market average for my title. I was strung along each time.
Finally I found a new job. 1/8 of the work, a huge increase in salary, great working conditions with actual structure in responsibilities and teams. No room for blurred lines.
My old job gets listed for the salary I was asking for all year.
You just can’t make this shit up.
