Abusing workers comp and still coming in to work to party plan.

I work for CPS and during the school year we are always getting an influx of cases. On top of high cases we are short staffed and are always getting slammed with cases. I have 12 family's I'm servicing and probably more cause I am still on rotation to get a new case. Two weeks ago my coworker was doing a supervised visit with a family, when she heard yelling, screaming, and cursing at the room next door. A client began acting belligerent with one of the CP workers and began kicking her. My coworker asked the other CP worker if she needed help, and she told her yes, to grab the child. The mother ended up kicking my coworker in the leg and busted the lip of a security guard with a toy. She was given 7 stitches on her lip. My coworker stayed that she was fine and…

My coworker stayed that she was fine and that the mother had kicked her. She went to the hospital and they told her she would get bruising which was normal. No broken leg nothing. She informed me she wasn't going to take workers comp because we haven't been at the job for 18 months. She kept telling everyone she was fine and was going to go to work. With meeting with lawyers and everything, she didn't come to work for a week. She did however, come to work one Friday for a party for our supervisor who was leaving. She was setting up tables and everything and wasn't complaining she was in pain.

Everyone was confused because she didn't inform management that she would be out, but was at the party and was fine. After last week's no show, she texted me over the weekend that she received a letter from her doctor staying that she can only do desk work. She even told me herself that the doctor will only write what the patients want him to. Meaning she purposely told him to put that she wanted to do desk work. She strolls into work laughing and jiving it up and doesn't appear to be in pain. She and my other CP worker are planning another party TODAY while me and my other coworker in my unit are being hit with cases back to back.

My thing is why come to work if you're on workers comp and not doing anything to help us?

I plan on going to management and letting them know to take me off rotation as it isn't fair. I will also let management know that I feel my coworker is milking the system, and it isn't helping us at all.
