I currently work for a upvc and ali manufacturer in the UK, won't give out much more specifics in case I'm identified.
I currently work as one of the sales estimators but I cover a lot for people in different departments which is why I think I'm being screwed over.
I was recently offered a chance to train on a new role involving processing orders, this was confirmed later with my direct boss and the head boss, with the idea that if the training doesn't work out then they'll need to hire externally.
Since then, as we've been short staffed and I've busy with my own workload I've not had much training on this new job, I then went on holiday leave. When i was off, the new job role was since put on a job site.
What could this mean? Is it just an admin thing where they have to look like they're hiring externally when I've already been told I can start training or is it more likely they're looking elsewhere? Has anyone else had similar experience?
