So I work for an agency. The agency actively hires undocumented workers but only if the documents look legit enough to pass a visual audit. They even provide us with tools to help give people an idea of what Resident cards should look like based on the year it was supposedly issued.
I just started working here 3 months ago so I haven't done anything illegal yet and I'm trying to dodge it as best as possible. We had an employee who was making the fake documents to the undocumented workers whose docs didn't pass audit.
She would charge them 600 to make passable fakes and promised to get them a job and placed them at the locations she was in charge of. Someone switched and the company was forced to fire her.
Here's the thing, management had to know this was happening because she wasn't high enough on the ladder to have access to some of the places she put people to work. Management fired her and then sent everyone in the company a new contract with added parts like an NDA and a Non Compete.
I have refused to sign it because it isn't enforceable in the state I'm in and they're pissed.
I know for a fact they didn't report her activity to the department of Homeland security.
My question is does anyone know if they are legally required to report her??? It's a federal crime not a state one and it happened to dozens, maybe even hundreds of people.
Also question #2?! How do I gtfo out of this situation without having to quit. (I want to quit but not until I have another job lined up)
