I have a friend who is five months pregnant and in upper middle management. Loves the company she works for but the relationship with her boss has become so bad that she’s crying by 9am daily and is concerned that it’s negatively impacting her pregnancy. She’s on multiple anxiety and depression medications already.
She doesn’t think the boss is doing anything illegal as they treat everyone poorly. She would really love to just leave the company but her company offers 12 weeks paid maternity leave and if she leaves now and gets another job then she isn’t protected by FMLA. She is hoping to pay an attorney for some time to figure out if there’s a way for her be able to take leave early or if the behavior might somehow be enough for them to pay out her maternity leave now so they can just split early.
Willing to pay for attorney time to discuss options but wanting to find someone who has lots of experience in this area versus just a family attorney.
