I asked my manager for one extra day off so I could have a full week (which I have the PTO for) so now I get a lecture about how I'm not meeting goals after they threw me into a department I've never worked before. Seriously fuck you Nordstrom.

What the title says. They wanted me to keep working for the next two weeks. When I asked if they were actually nuts, they responded with “so is that a no?” I hate at-will states.

Donation stealing manager
This is a UPDATE from my previous post: https://old.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/13r7n7u/my_manager_collected_donations_for_me_but_kept_it/ I just want to clear something up since I've gotten harassed over it. These donations were collected less than a year ago after our whole office had been strictly WFH due to covid. I continued working from home until I couldn’t, which was last week. I wanted to give everyone an update because some were asking for it so I hope this is OK. I used a compilation of some of what you all said and emailed my coworkers from my personal email explaining the situation and requested they get their money back because none of it was actually donated to me. I also requested they send a screenshot of the donation as proof so I could see what I could do legally like pressing charges or small claims court. Mainly wanting proof this actually happened. So over the weekend 8…
The supreme court ruled against unions and said they can be sued if they cause damage to a business. Striking could cause said damages. This is another blow to American worker and a blow to freedom. The lack of response by our representatives shows this was the status quo all along. Until we have a nation wide strike and demand a living wage at minimum. We will continue to be debt slaves and forced to work in hostile work environments. We must unite or we will be further divided and subjected to even worse conditions. Child labor is returning and it's not pleasant. A clear indication of how far our country has fallen. Now the seasonal workers are being eliminated as the produce rots in the sun. Nation wide strike is all that will do from this point. If we cannot unite as a nation of workers and demand fair…
How Can I hurt the management?
So I worked for a company and the Branch Director and Team Managera are spreading rumors. They recorded me having a private conversation then spread it to destroy my reputation. How can I make em hurt more than just by linked in review or Google reviews ? This is outside of US in Southeast asia. Just wondering how I can stick it to them??
My partner is a nurse at a hospital in Maryland and they've been required to take mandatory training courses online (think cultural awareness/sexual harassment/etc. type corporate trainings). As I understand it, they've been told if they don't do them, they can't work. Also, they don't get paid for it and can't clock in extra to do it at the hospital. I believe that the implication is that they do it mid-shift, when they're already so busy that none of them are even able to take their required meal breaks. I've expressed that they should have the hospital management confirm this stuff in writing, but in the event the hospital doubles down… This has to be illegal, right?
