It’s likely after 6/28 my time would be up there, but I don’t know for sure if they’d extend my contract. Issue is I’m flying to a concert on 7/7 to NYC. Ideally I’d fly down Thursday afternoon and return Saturday evening. The issue is the company only lets you take off like 2-3 days every six months. Should I just quit end of June? I don’t see how it could be feasible. Also, booking flights late Thursday and early Saturday try and make work is too expensive and a runaround. Context: this is a minimum wage temporary gig before I get back on my feet.
I am severely overworked and underpaid. I work remotely and we are very short staffed. I am doing most of my bosses work to the point where I'm wondering wtf she even does. I put my foot down and she just gave the work load to my only true friend at the company. (Now she's considering quitting.) Every time my boss hops on a call SHE'S TANNING outside. Are you fucking serious? At least try to act like you're doing something. Everyone on my team is an idiot except for my friend. Anyways… I've been causally applying to jobs since December and then April I got serious about it. I literally have been applying to 10+ PER DAY. Doing about 2-3 interviews per week. I am constantly analyzing my resume and improving it. Working on certifications to beef up my resume. I'll get to the 2nd or 3rd interview then…
From a local business owner who pays their employees like crap and cannot retain staff, and who conveniently grew up wealthy. Hilariously, they also posted new photos after this of their tropical vacation.
I work in a restaurant. A few months ago, I was talking with my boss(es) about going into more of a leadership/managerial role. We never planned anything out, they just told me I could start training in a few months. Never heard anything since. Fast forward to present day, I come into work and see my coworker being trained for the position we talked about! I work extremely hard, and even won “employee of the month” last month. I feel I go the extra mile every day, and do more than a lot of my coworkers. So tbh, I felt bitter when I saw they’d given my promotion to someone else. Should I bring this up with my manager(s) or let it go?
These guys are extremely hard to talk to. They’re country dudes in their 50s who have that “respect is earned not given” attitude, they run through hella employees and can’t figure out why. Truck is old as shit, we deliver produce and the back of the truck also doesn’t even get as cold as it should be to keep the food cold. I’ve done nothing to these guys, I hate pulling the race card but I honestly think they might be racist because why else would you not put me another truck and keep in the old truck with no AC and engine issues. Of course the smart thing to do here is quit but I feel shitty employers need to be held accountable for their actions at some point. Are they breaking rules or violating any safety? I live in Florida btw so you know it’s getting hot as…

I was recently promoted to management but my promotion is still under wraps until my boss lets the team know at our next department meeting. When I told one of my close colleagues who I consider a friend he jokingly said I guess we can’t talk or be friends anymore. I took it for the joke it is but it made me think will it be unprofessional to talk to them about work the way I did before the promotion? Or do I have to keep my opinion of the company to myself now?
