I’m still a bit in shock, but basically I’ve spent the last two months looking for work after being let go from my previous role (which is a whole story of employer misconduct in itself) and I recently finally received an offer… The role was/is as a Senior member of staff, with the responsibilities to match, and would have been something that would’ve otherwise been the perfect fit for me. But the offered pay rate equated to an hourly rate barely over the current minimum wage in my country and actually lower than minimum wage when an increase to that comes into effect here from July 1. I pretty well knew it was too low and not realistic, and to their credit my contacts in the organisation seemed to understand where I was coming from, but they wouldn’t (couldn’t) budge and I had to turn the offer down. This job…

What can I do to help?
My mother slipped on a wet floor without a sign at work, and unfortunately fractured her ankle. she's a longterm employee of this job and nearing retirement age, I believe she won't consider suing due to her kind heart and the chance of termination after they know she's suing . is there any advice yall can give me ? is she even entitled to sue or recieve some sort of payment ?
What do y’all think about this article?
Elon Musk’s wealth
I just realised that if Elon Musk took just 1% of his wealth and put it into a savings account at a bank of a very low 0.5% interest rate he would acquire $5,000,000 a month in interest. I’m eating soup and damper all week long so that I can afford to pay all my bills, and I’m earning above award wages. This is bullshit.
After a whole year of being treated like dirt by a horrible boss and getting paid cents, I decided not to renew my contract. I'm a journalist/filmmaker, we need to finance ourselves with day jobs and stuff. But the whole point of having a day job is for it to get you money. F*ck that horrible environment that she fostered, even if the rest of the team was cool. https://preview.redd.it/52r727epf95b1.jpg?width=526&format=pjpg&auto=webp&v=enabled&s=7f7058d4bcae7ee062e0c7350d8185183c8c17e1

Hello esteemed community, In the spirit of transparency and fostering informed discussion, I wish to shed some light on rumors surrounding Kroll, a well-known global risk consulting firm. It is essential to consider these insights, especially if you are contemplating a potential acquisition, as the company appears to be preparing for a sale. Firstly, it is important to note that Kroll began 2023 by reducing its workforce by an estimated 1% to 3%. This strategic move, while common in business restructuring, is worth keeping in mind while evaluating the company's current status and future plans. Moreover, the financial performance of the company in 2022 showed signs of challenges. Reports indicate that the company missed its revenue targets by an estimated $100 million. This shortfall could have profound implications for its financial health and future outlook. In terms of operational efficiency, Kroll appears to lack an active process for managing vendor…
I know this may sound incredibly stupid or like I am a lazy ass. But I just want to vent, I almost cried today but was blessed with the day being off because my bosses are very unorganized. I started with this people in a small bakery and there is a lot to do, they are so new the place needs so many things like a proper computer and a bathroom. It is my first week and I already started to make extra hours and i was supposed to NOT have a free day because my bosses needed me for this week to work everyday. I am being as positive as possible because it was very difficult for me to find a job (i need money and experience), but i am already comtenplating leaving in a few months. I am the cashier and i have to treat public directly, and…
So I quit my job via voicemail. I work at a corrupt machine like facility. They keep calling me telling me I need to quit in writing so that they can remove me from the internal system. I assume they also need my resignation in writing so that they don’t give me unemployment. I got another job now, however, and since I haven’t quit in writing I still have my previous work email. Im thinking of cc-Ing all my former co workers and making my letter of resignation public. I want to tell them that I’m quitting because the pay is shit and the managers are tyrants. I want to urge the workers that they deserve better. My new job is SO EASY and it’s the exact same pay I was getting at my precious job. My last job has a union and we recently striked for more pay and…
Recently got promoted to gm of a chain convenience store/gas station. I got the job because the last manager didn’t know how to do anything so I started learning everything so important stuff could get done, so I got promoted after he was finally fired since I already sort of knew the job. I’ve been reading everything about people’s complaints with their managers since I’m in a position of power now and don’t want to abuse it. I make sure that I work at least 9-12 hours 5 days a week, so I’m doing my part cashiering and cleaning and doing normal store duties so I’m sharing the work with them. If someone asks for a day off I let them have it and work their shift for them as well, so I’m not asking other people to work on their days off. I try to be on call 24/7…
