Mine actually happened off the clock. I'd just finished up a 60+ hour week with a manual labor warehouse job (volunteering for extra shifts to be a “good employee”), and drove out to the river for some swimming before I went home. I'd been looking forward to it all week, the sun would be out and the temperature was perfect. I was only in the water for an hour before being completely exhausted. all that labor, all that “company dedication”, andd I couldn't even properly enjoy my leisurely outing. Since then, I'll do what I'm obligated to, and nothing more

Started a new job beginning of last month, as a merchandiser/salesman for a large corporation. Advertised hours on job posting were 5-130. Haven’t worked a week under 50 hours yet, last week four out of my five days I skipped my thirty minute lunch break in order to be done by 4’o clock. Sent out on my own after one week of training, expected to know what displays to build, take down, location of product and to know how to condense new product and back stock upon entering the store for the first time in my life. I’ve never been in these stores before, I don’t know the managers, receivers. Nothing. I’m expected to communicate with them? I don’t even know when their shift starts, or who they are. I barely have time to work the six+ pallet loads, let alone set up a completely new display. It’s overwhelming, it’s…

Quit my job as GM
Well short story I had given my boss a 2 month notice because we are moving because my wife's brother suddenly passed away and her mom needs us closer. I agreed to train my replacement fast forward now I've done worked 30 days of my 60 day notice and my DM was there. My replacement was calling off which made me have to open to close and I messaged my GM Chat to try to get help but no one could. The DM didn't once offer any help at all just pointing all the things we was doing wrong mind you when I took this store over last year April they lost 40k this year I made them 20k. So I took him outside and said I cannot stay here till close my wife is sick and he says it's the lifestyle of a GM I said well its not…
When will the societal collapse happen?
As more and more last drops of humanity and dignity is stripped from americans, how long do you think it'll take for a full-on revolution ? At some point people just won't have anything and will have to fight to live. Question is, how much time is left?
Everyone is already aware of the out of control inflation post-COVID, and that most of that is actually from Corporate using inflation as an excuse to artificially jack prices for “record profits”… Unfortunately, that's only the tip of the iceburg. Due to a history of both risky economic decisions due to necessity and straight up Bad economic decisions from greed, America is sitting on a nuclear stockpile of debt and inflation triggers. To avoid writing a research paper, and too keep this info entertaining rather than dry, Watch a movie called “The Big Short”(For 2008 Context) and This youtube series(more historical context that's still entertaining). Both are better researched and written than I could hope to replicate. TL;DR if you don't like fun: America is sitting on a massive debt bubble, a massive housing bubble, and a massive derivatives market bubble, all of which can cause chaos on the validity…
I’d like to start of that I am a 19th at old woman who works part time at an “entertainment” store that has to do with video games. Since the start of May 2023 my manager has been pushing me out slowly and it came to a breaking point very recently. This text thread made me very anxious since I do have a hard time standing up for myself and most of it is absolutely not true (coming from his side). It was very shocking for me as he always praised me constantly and made me feel very appreciated. The previous employer he mentioned had to do with my waitress job where I was illegally fired by the new manager (I worked there for 2 years) after he replaced most of the staff and did not give me a valid reason when he let me go and a few other…
