I called my location at like 11 and said I can’t make it to my shift tomorrow and they said to inform the manager. So, I just texted her that. I really don’t wanna go cause the people I’m working with tomorrow literally talk crap about me (I overheard them last week, they weren’t even trying to be discreet). I lied about the pink eye. I lied about them not picking up so I could send her that text. I wanna quit but it’s so hard to find a job nowadays.

Work seemingly inconsiderate and not understanding to some of my personal situation(s)

Idk if this is exactly relevant to this community but I work at a place where schedules for the next few weeks are posted. I have an operation that has to be done later today (as of time of posting) which is also a work day for me. I told my manager a week in advance as soon as I knew about my operation and then I got told that I can't be asking for things like this as I would have to tell them in advance ahead of time before the schedules are even released. I didn't even know before the schedules were published about my operation time My manager did say that if I am able to come in that I would be able to work the remainder of my shift without the chance for me to compensate for the missed hours Am I wrong or is something…

I am in uncomfortable situation.

I'm typing on my phone while on break . This morning I had a shift at 6:00 but I couldn't find my car keys and time-card. I fortunately found the keys and said srew the card. I arrived late, at 6:15. I couldn't find my line manager so I went straight to the lady that tracks our time to tell her about the situation. Lady wasn't there but factory manager was. He told me she is out for the rest of the week. So I told him about the situation that I'm in and he told me to tell her on Monday. This confused me as he has access to all data in the factory from materials arrival time to employes payrolls and time excel sheet. So rn I feel like going home. Relocating me even though the agreement was for a different city

Hello, I live in a small country(EU) and have joined a company that has offices in two cities here, few months ago(still on probation). The job offer which was sent via email was saying that I will be working from the office in city X once a week and the rest of the days in city Y. My contract does not state anything about where I need work from. Last week my manager contacted me saying that we will need you from now on to come to the office X, three times per week. What are my options here? Since it was not on the contract but still it is a bridge of agreement. Thank you in advance

I am a former Amazon DSP driver and this started about a month ago. One Friday we didn't get our paychecks and our dsp owner said he couldn't submit payroll because he had to go on a route. Thought it made sense and we would get it tomorrow. Tomorrow came and still no paycheck and boss made another excuse saying it was the banks fault now and get a paycheck the next day. Next day came and still no paycheck and now said he gets taken to the back of the bank to asked questions about large amount of money in his account. Now my bullshit meter is going through the roof. Now my weekend at this point and didn't get my paycheck till Wednesday at the start of my workweek and other coworkers got their checks on Thursday. How do I get started doing something I enjoy as a side job?

Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster. Maybe not the appropriate place to ask this but I see a lot of people talking about success in turning a hobby into a source of income so hoping to get some tips. Currently employed in the educational sector. Tired of the disrespect by students, but especially by superiors while getting crap pay and looking to turn a hobby into something that can be financially productive. I really love writing, and over the years I’ve started to gain more confidence in its quality as I’ve received more and more praise from friends, peers, co-workers and past college professors. When I was younger I briefly did an up work gig where I would ghostwrite a variety of different articles for various companies, but the pay rate was something like $3.00 per 500 words, and work was typically scant. My boss is always watching and listening

I work for a small locally owned woman’s boutique. I never realized how much my boss watches and listens to me and my other coworkers until recently. In the past employees have asked if the cameras record/record sound, and basically if they would be of any use in an emergency. Back then she flat out lied to us all saying they record but the footage is only saved for a short period of time. Recently while at one of the two stores, she was texting the employees working at the other location. She sent them something she knew they would be upset about and immediately checked the cameras and started listening in to their conversation.
