So for context, I work remotely for my boss, managing the backend of his business, doing days analysis, etc. Recently, he decided to lay off two employees without warning. One of them is my good friend who is married with two kids and he is suddenly left without work. My boss asked me to write letters notifying them of the lay off and make sure to mention there is no severance package offered (since we are in an at will state). I really don't want to write the letter but this is currently my only job and I'm looking for others. I need the work so I'll play along, however… I wrote the letter and in the left side, the letters spell out Troy is a coward man. I showed my wife and she didn't notice it until I specifically pointed it out. I have attached a screenshot with identifiable…

I worked at this place for years and finally left last fall. Today I heard from friends who still work there that they suddenly announced that the paychecks that were supposed to land in their accounts TOMORROW aren't happening because the company is out of money. But they're not folding the company and letting everyone go… they just sort of expect everyone to be cool with the fact that the last two weeks have been unpaid, and that they won't be paid until who knows when? The CEO is “working on” getting funding to keep going. He's delusional, I know him, it's not happening. This fucking asshole waited until the last possible second to tell people about this. He fucked with their lives, their rent payments, everything. If he'd waited just one more day people would've noticed their paychecks hadn't landed in their bank accounts. That's why he announced it…
Reported by The Guardian. Think we're ripe for some revolution. This isnt moral nor it should be legal. “The top five executives at the US’s largest companies have amassed close to $9bn in tax-free retirement saving accounts while many of their employees have struggled to set aside any funds for retirement…”
I'm Canadian, from Quebec. I work for a multinational Canadian Telecom, one of the “ROBELUS” three. I've been with the company 17+ years, and while it's had it's up's and downs, it's been mostly ok. However I have noticed a concerted effort by the company to slowly degrade our jobs onshore and move them offshore (to the Philippines, India, Guatemala, El Salvador). Each successive union agreement, more jobs were lost. We just ratified a new agreement a month ago, and I thought things would be back to normal, but today that changed. First thing in the morning, my manager was hounding all team members to complete a company wide “Census” to judge engagement and I guess rate the performance of management. Something they do usually twice a year. The census is anonymous, and I thought noting of it, but that it was annoying they were trying to get it done…
Im overwhelmed by office politics and overworking till late nights. so give my resignation and they saying i need to serve two months or give a reason to exit early. what are good reasons i can say to leave?
I was trying to log into my work email account and it wouldn’t let me. Then I saw the message saying my password was changed two hours before. I know I did not change my password. I think the chances of me being hacked are low because I was also logged out of the social media account I managed. I texted the boss saying my password was changed and I was concerned (in case it was a hack), and I got no response. FYI, this behavior isn’t even from one of those tech or any other for-profit company. It’s at a nonprofit. Preparing for the worst tomorrow.
This needs context or it'll be confusing. My boss owns a sub store (SS) and a pizza place (PP), I work for both. Said boss is out of the country and has a stand in manager at SS and supervisor at PP running the places. I'm happy at the PP, while it can be stressful and a pain some days, I have fun there. I'm absolutely miserable at the SS though. Here's a few reasons why; I don't get my legal breaks for pretty much any of my shifts I work alone half of my shifts on days I close, which is stressful and feels dangerous with the amount of money in the till and because I'm a female I got laughed at by stand in manager when I brought up I don't get breaks, and offered nothing to ensure I get provided them. Felt his response was unprofessional, him…
