my coworkers and I finally spoke up about our lazy ass coworker (lazy coworker is the white and other coworker is the blue I just forgot to save his number)

TLDR: my shitty ass lazy as coworker left 2 hours early from her 6 hour shift and all hell broke loose in the group chat. For context I work at subway and we got this new coworker a couple months ago. Shes been to almost every subway in my town because she’s had problems with every single one. We tried giving her a chance but for months she has refused to help us and do her job and be decent to anyone even customers. She cares more about tips than doing her job at all. There’s 2 people on morning crew and she’s a mid shift almost every day (it’s one of the easiest shifts 12-6) she’s only ever closed once. Yet she complains the whole shift about being tired, wanting to go home and how she wants it to be 6 already. She leaves without asking if we need…

I was very lucky.

I have been following this subreddit for quite some time and it has made me realize how lucky I was to be in the workforce when I was. I am now 74 and retired, I started working when I was sixteen as a stockboy clerk in a local grocery store. The pay was minimum wage (I can't even remember back then, maybe $1.25). It was a good entry-level job to work my way through high school. My boss was used to having high school kids working for him and he was very understanding. He insisted on you being on time and giving notice if you couldn't come in but he was flexible and honest with us and treated us well. When I got out of college I was undecided about what I wanted to do and I started driving a cab in our medium-sized town. I liked it as I…

Not Getting Paid Full 8 Hours

Throw away account because my main has my name in it. I am a new mom with a 6-week-old baby. I just started back to work yesterday. However, daycare can't take him yet (waitlists are mega long here, but somehow we found the place that had the earliest start date for later this month if all goes to plan). The owner of the company personally came to me while I was pregnant and told me he would like to pay my 6 weeks because I've helped the company so much and have been loyal, and he'd like to repay that loyalty, but they would take 3 days of my vacation since they are a small business just to help out a little. My family and my boyfriend's family all live approx 10 hours away, so there is no one here to watch the baby since our friends all work too.…

I am ready to quit the job that I’m still in training for

I work in a call center at arguably one of the best companies in my area. The pay is great, I get a 401K with company match, a pension, paid vacation, lots of company-sponsored employee outings and just generally the best job I’ve had in my adult life. I’m in my 6th week of training and we are due to be on our own next week. We started taking calls about 3 weeks in. Don’t get me wrong, some of the customers I’ve spoken to are very nice. But many are not. I worked in food service for the past 7 years, so I’ve had my fair share of rude customers. The difference is, I could walk away from those situations and go scream in the walk-in for a few minutes. There really isn’t any walking away when you’re stuck on the phone with them and something about me being…
