Left work earlier than scheduled today because I had permission from my manager. Things were slow, I had come in like 30 minutes early, and asked at least three times that it was okay that I was leaving early. Both my manager and another coworker left early as well (very slow day) and there were still 3 people on the clock in my department when I left. They knew I was leaving. It was not busy and there was not an overwhelming amount of work to do (there was some but there’s three people there, they can handle it). Store director calls me about 20 minutes after I leave and asks where I am and that I’m scheduled until 4:30. I didn’t answer just listened to the voice message. Got a job at one of America’s major department stores a few weeks ago and I can’t stand this shit. Training was a nightmare, people coming into the room with the computers we train on screaming and gossiping. How can I focus on the shit I need to know to do the job correctly while these people are screaming what their kids are doing for senior prom and garbage like that? Then I get to the actual job, everything is decent but I find that all of the managers are just standing around in corners of the store gossiping all day. Everyone I was trained with says they have no idea what they’re doing because no one is teaching them and they don’t have the corporate equipment necessary to scan items and do their job correctly so they’re just doing the best they can.
