I am so shocked about US policies. There are not real laws and/or protections for pregnant people in this country. A lot of females hide their pregnancies due to fear of getting fired, targeted, demoted, etc. from their jobs. The “power” has been given to the states to decide if companies should have any concecuenses for discriminating a pregnant people. 80% of companies in the US do not offer and paid time for the mother to recover after giving birth. My state requires “reasonable accommodations” for pregnant people. That term is so vague that the “accommodation” could be that they give you less work, to then fire you. If the requested accommodations are a burden for the company, they can deny them. Pregnant person get fired and they need to proof that it was unfair due to pregnancy to get any out of it, or to get the company have…

As much as I hate working for corporations, I’m finally getting back on my feet and need at least some kind of day job. This is the first interview I’ve actually been offered in seven months. Prior to this I was working from home and really thriving that way, but the company I worked for fucked me over with a drug test I had no way of completing in the allotted time (long story). This new interview is for an in-person data entry job at a design company, which this recruiter recommended because I’m a graphic artist and have experience with data entry. But this place is over half an hour away and I do not have reliable transportation. I can get to the interview, but I want to try to convince these guys that I could easily do data entry from home. I might be able to swing an…
It's my second month, still in probation. I've made over £33000 in sales with current clients. But I'm not emailing clients back in time and not prospecting the 300 clients given to me I'm on medication for panic disorder and have mental health issues since I was 12. This deffo isn't helping, deffo feels like the end of the world. See you on the other side!
The stupidity of the working poor
I was watching a documentary called “Forgotten Americans” about coal miners and there's segments were these workers- who do 10+ hour jobs, six days a week- praise Donald Trump for being a “guy you can have a beer with, he gets folks like us.” But that wasn't the worst part. “We don't believe in hand outs, we believe a strong hand and a strong back, and Trump is a hard worker.” These people never had a chance in west Virginia; education is severely under funded and they've been tricked into believing any assistance from the government, that come from their own taxes, is wrong and a silly fantasy
he was a wiry little jack Russell type who’s lead had been gently tied to the mailbox while his owner went inside. I’ve been struggling to quit for months; the job sucks and my coworkers were petulant butt-munches. But! petting this dog gave me the dopamine/serotonin rush, and the calming confidence, I needed to quit! So, thanks, little dog. I love you P.S.-I hope this sort of post is allowed. If not, sorry!
‘When 10 people quit’: Employee describes mass resignations after workers were forced to tape pockets closed Sarah Kester – Yesterday 6:33 PM A woman named Lexi (@rjalways.trippin) put her workplace on blast when she shared in a TikTok video that employees were forced to tape their pockets closed. It's likely this was done to prevent workers from stealing. But the harsh requirements backfired when 10 workers decided to quit, as Lexi shared in the text overlay of her video. “When 10 people quit bc we had to start taping up our pockets at work,” Lexi wrote as she stood in the employee bathroom and spun around to show red tape on both front pockets. The comments on her video were turned off, but it’s to a company’s benefit to build and foster an environment of trust for its employees. A 2017 article by Harvard Business Review found that people who…
