Before i started working i would write fiction all the time. After finishing my school work I'd just sit and write until my eyes bled and imagination was exhausted. I haven't written anything since i started working. It's not just that I am tired after a long day of work and have chores to do after; it's that work itself spoils this hobby. The idea after 2 hours of me time i have to go to bed and do something i hate that doesn't provide a living wage, an employer that doesn't care about me, I mean it just makes dong a hobby feel pointless. Wake up. Work. Eat. Sleep. Repeat. This has killed my hobbies

Companies and governments ( especially those in major cities) want everyone to return to the office so you spend all of your money on overpriced food and other things while also justifying their real estate valuations. All workers who are being forced to return to the office should spend ZERO. that money can be better spent on something else or in your local community. It's not our problem that everyone built their business around office buildings. Bring the shit down and bankrupt them. Quite frankly I hope they all collapse. I understand some of these may be small businesses but they can go ahead and just bootstrap and the landlords who expect you to spend most of your income to live in a small room just to be in a city can go fuck themselves too. The future is going to be difficult for us workers but i think we…
A Life Worth Living
Thinking of quitting?
Why not strike and make them fire you? Keep your EI benefits intact and it's the same function essentially. I see people in squalor asking if they should give the company 2 weeks notice while forfeiting their EI voluntarily. Don't @ me about people's fears. I understand what holds people back, it's to get people to think about their situation.
This might be long but I will try my best to shorten it. So long story short I was taken off the schedule for a week and I’m not sure where to go from there. So last week on Friday I did contact my manager and let him know that I can’t come into work because I wasn’t feeling good. Well he seemed upset and demanded that he needs a doctor’s note or otherwise it might not work out for me. Now before I visited my job, I have a friend of mine who works at the same store informed me that an employee snitched on me for calling off cause I was “high”. I kept that in mind and decided to also let my manager know about that. So anyways I couldn’t provide a doctor’s note so the next day I stopped at my job to talk to my…
Anyone else here work more than 1 job?
Currently on two, one is 4 and half hrs a day and the other is 2. Could quite easily give the 2 hr one up if I'm honest but the extra income isn't bad. Its nice to have a “fuck you” job, one that I can quit at a moment's notice and not look back, hopefully it doesn't come to that though
I started at my job in August as part time. For months I've asked about moving to full time (because my parents cant stop badgering me) and I've been getting the runaround. I've talked to other part time staff and they've all said the same thing. “Good luck with that!” The most they've given a long time PT employee is 38 hours. She's there constantly and works her ass off. It really put things into perspective and made me understand to just stop asking. Truthfully I don't even want full time hours here. (I don't want full time hours anywhere but I definitely cant make livable wages part time where im at now.) “No one wants to work” is the biggest crock of shit I've ever heard. I used to feel bad about not contributing to the full time work grind but now im just like “it is what it…
Pay not matching Hours
You know what really bothers me? The fact that on top of not increasing salaries, white collar jobs are asking for longer hours. Not only are you demanding more labor for less money but yr demanding more of my finite hours on earth. I just got an interview where the director said shes often on the floor until 10PM stuffing thank you notes (that could definitely be picked up the next day). I have a big interview with a law firm thats 9-5:30 but Ive been told repeatedly i dont get to ask for more than the salary being listed (im not going to say what it is in case they find this) If yr asking for 42.5 hours (or more), then I expect that to be reflected. The job is non exempt but i doubt over time treats those 2.5 hours as overtime and again, for what. That…
I am 16F, almost 17, and I have applied to almost every business in town. I've never gotten a call back or any response other than “sorry, we won't hire you”. One time I submitted an application for Dollar General and as soon as I hit “submit”, I got an email saying they wouldn't hire me. Even McDonald's won't hire me as a cashier, and McDonald's hires everyone! It's not that I don't have a resumé or anything, I submit resumés and cover letters, I have references related to my experience, but I've never gotten a call back. I'm not sure what to do at this point. My mom has been super frustrated over me not having a job, but I've been applying to jobs and none of them have shown interest in my application. She half-jokingly said she would support me if I sold feet pics online, so I'm…
