I worked 2022 peak seasonal at UPS
Working for UPS was a crazy experience. They hire you with starting pay of $17.50 (sounds AMAZING, right?!) your first 3 days there you’re sitting in a classroom learning nonsense, but also listening to a never ending line of “higher Up” employees coming in to give you a speech about how long they’ve worked there , how much they make & how AMAZING this company is. They inform us that brown truck drivers can make $35/hr & that they only promote within (still sounds amazing) . After the 3rd day your dropped off at the trailer door you’re assigned to & introduced to ur supervisor. My job was to load the packages onto the trailers. The work is BRUTAL. I’m a 36 year old mom of 6 – not in bad shape & it was HARD. I came home everyday covered in bruises. After working there for 2 wks I…
Who is angry? Cause because there really is no such thing as an 8hr work day anymore. Heck even 8hrs is too much when also needing to deal with grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning. Ready for 6hr work days
A bit suspicious of my boss right now.
Not sure if this belongs here but I don’t know where else to ask this. If anyone can point me elsewhere, please feel free. Let me start of by saying our boss is almost never in the office. Like. Ever. Maybe once or twice a week, and not even full days. Anyway. Because of this my two coworkers constantly gossip about her (I don’t get involved) and one of my coworkers leaves 30 min early almost everyday because…she can. And I’m certain our boss knows this but probably doesn’t feel she can do anything about it. Never being here and all. It’s been this way for years as far as I know. I’ve been there a year now and it’s been this way as long as I’ve been there. Didn’t seem to be much of an issue. Our boss even praised our hard work at our Christmas party recently. But…
So thoughtful
Look at these people… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFIJ6HuNCtA To unpack: ” Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus blamed socialism for killing Americans’ motivation to work. ” Because when we think of socialist countries, we think of the USA, don't we? And the host Kennedy) says: It's hard to get back to work, after the holidays.. for all of us. And it.. amid the so-called “quite quitting”-trend, which is so dumb.. Billionaire […] is blasting socialism, rightly so, for making things worse. Because socialism sucks. It then shows the typical billionaire whining about nobody wants to work anymore. It is just making me feel like puking in their faces.
So today I gave my two weeks notice and made my boss cry. He didn’t cry initially, but did a few hours later. Not sure if this is even the right place to talk about this but I gotta vent and know if any of this is normal or if I’m being dramatic in my evaluation of it all. I was quitting bc he makes my work life miserable by never contributing which makes all the work fall on to me. I’ve worked with him for 6 years total with a gap between when I switched departments once. I loved that manager and only switched back to this dept once she left. I’m going to work for that former manager at a new company. He knows she has always been my favorite boss and would constantly ask me who my favorite was for a while after I returned. He told…
I work at a church as the Social Media manager and webpage editor. I only work 15 hours a week. This job can easily be done from home. I was told not to come into work during the massive snow storm that hit here and to please do all the YouTube posts and web design from home. We have a media person who live records all the services. I do not attend the services. He sends me the videos and I edit and post them online. The entire week of 12-25 to 12-31 this person left town. No one told me. I sat at my desk here at home and logged in to all applications that I normally would at work. I checked hourly for the video's to be sent to me daily. There was a Christmas Eve service, a Christmas Day service and a New Year's Day service. I…
I am a supervisor at a large hotel chain and we recently got a new housekeeping executive manager. On December 18th, she told me her niece is dying of cancer and she needs to go back to her hometown to say her final goodbyes. She asked me to cover for her but I didn’t want to manage the whole hotel (the other managers are on vacation) so I said no, then she stated treating me different and started guilt tripping me til I agreed. She left on the 21st and was supposed to be back yesterday but didn’t show up but then said she was mourning her nieces death (that happened on December 30) and needed extra time. Anyway, last night I get a message from a coworker telling me to look at our bosses Facebook page. The first thing I see is the go fund me page she shared…
