Alright. So… My brother works as a server at a restaurant my hometown. They have a few food items, but it's primarily a beer Haus type establishment. The servers all pool tips, there is a single POS so there's no way for them to differentiate tips on credit cards. The owner's solution is that you're paid out based on the time worked during the shift, total tips, etc. So, here's where it gets squirrelly. They have a manager who works with them who will occasionally help the staff, but is primarily serving in a management role. Making schedules, orders kegs, hiring, checking cleanliness, customer interactions, etc. She has also been clocking in for 7-8 hours and counting those hours towards her take of the tip pool. So, the other night they made $140 combined across 4 people in tips, and she took $40 of it. My understanding of it is…

Ordered Pizza online
Ordered Donatos pizza tonight. There wasn’t an option for delivery. So we opted for pick up. Pick up window was super busy. Dude working the pick up window was our usual delivery driver. Said hey man why no delivery tonight? He says what? They turned off delivery for online orders. The delivery drivers at the store had no clue. Wait time was 45 minutes to pick it up. I showed up on time. Pizza was cold when I got it home. I live two minutes from this location. Pizza could have been delivered sooner. They don’t have enough employees to work the store so the benched the drivers.
This is inhumane and unsustainable
A Surprise No One Saw Coming.
is any of this illegal?
im not sure if this is the right sub but im really just at the end of my rope with my job after last night, its been a long time coming but im seriously going to resign this weekend. i work at a big fast food chain and my manager and a couple of my coworkers in general do some really weird stuff the more that i think about it. every month we split all of our cash tips among all the employees and we got them yesterday, my manager forgot to give me mine, which i think was an honest mistake, but shes refusing to do anything about it and told my coworker it was “suspicious” that i kept asking her about where my tips are. speaking of tips, a few months ago a girl gave 200$ from the register to a scam caller (stupid as hell but shes…
Long story short, I work for a corporation that also provides a certain service in store for customers. Service workers get paid via commission. Sometimes the services can’t be completed due to safety reasons, but it’s custom that the employee gets reimbursed by the company for partially completed services. Anyways, I handed in my notice of resignation and my last day is Sunday. Today I got a flurry of texts from managers/coworkers that A) I screwed my team over schedule wise for the pre approved personal days I took (even though I told 2 managers and my coworkers prior to taking those days off and B) I won’t be getting paid for a recent service that I nearly completed, but couldn’t finish due to a safety issue. Should I even bother finishing my notice? Should I reach out to HR about my pay? I feel like I’m being punished for…
I need help with something at my job.
Basically what the title says. I wasn't sure where else to go and trust this sub the most. So I'm based in NSW, Australia and work at a chicken place that rhymes with bed scooter. I was having a rant with coworkers the other day about the water situation and want peoples help/opinions. Unless we bring in our own bottles of water, we have no access to water without drinking from the sinks used for hand washing, the sinks in the bathroom or paying for water. It had bothered me for awhile so im reaching out here for some help. If any more info is needed let me know. Also if we bring our bottles we have to store them in the fridge because if we forget and leave them in the office they are unaccessable as the office is locked.
I started working as a financial analyst for a company in March of last year. I’ve consistently taken on more responsibility trying to improve my skills in the role + taking on more clients than anyone in my department and they keep telling me I need to take on more responsibility before they promote me. I’ve had a lot of 50 hour weeks (which was not mentioned in the agreement) as well as working some Sundays, so this job does not respect work life balance in the slightest. My boss is honestly super intense, even when I do things correctly he’ll still find a way to shit on me and I’m starting to feel extremely burnt out and taken advantage of. Should I wait until my 1 year mark to see if they give me a raise or get out?
