Antiwork

Because of an insane (Illegale) workload I damaged a company vehicle. Now asking me to pay for it.

I worked for a very small security company. I worked in the mobile division with 2 other people. We worked in a sort of 3 shifts rotation. You start with opening and closing for 3 days. at 4PM you start going to different businesses to close for them, you are done at around 2AM then you have 3 hours of unpaid break. then 5PM till 7PM you open some of the same businesses again. Then you have 3 days of alarm duty. You sit at home with the company car and if an alarm goes of somewhere, you drive to there, check it out and reset the alarm. Than last you had 3 days off and repeat. After a gruelling 3 day alarm shift with almost no sleep in 3 day. I took a corner to sharp and hit a pole… Then this boss wanted me to pay for the…

I took a corner to sharp and hit a pole… Then this boss wanted me to pay for the damages, because this was a new vehicle. I told him NO, it's not my risk as an employee, it's his risk as an owner. Then he threatened to withhold my salary. I told him I will quit on the spot then (I had a shift coming up in the next hour), but he just laughed at me and hung up te phone.

I send him an email explain that I quit on the spot and why and asking were I can return my company clothes (Shift started in 15 minutes at that point)… Then he called me to apologize and that I didn't need to pay for the damages (This was not the first scummy thing he did and at this point I was just done) I told hem that he shouldn't have laughed at me and hung up the phone. And this time I hung up! IT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER! Still think about it sometimes xD

I now have a job that pays 50% more and I only work ma till Friday 7am till 4pm 😀

I have 2 more of these kind of stories if you guys are interested. I just refuse to let asshole managers owners walk all over me and be disrespectful and there empty treads about how easy it would be to replace me.
