I work for a hydraulic hose/parts company. We take turns being on call for a few select customers. If called in (randomly, could be 3AM) we are given 2 hours OT. That’s for going to shop, helping customer with parts and going home. Also get 130 bucks to have the on call for the week/weekend. Yeah it’s almost not worth it. This customer told me yesterday, he’d need me today sometime. Probably around 11. At 11:30 he texted telling me it’s delayed but still today at some point. So now I can’t do anything at all with my day, waiting for the phone to ring, and will only get paid 2 hrs OT.
When applying for a job that has call-outs, make sure it’s worth your time guys.
