Boss decided not to hire me full-time after I was out for a mental health week

I have been working part-time at an agency for a year now, as I am a graduate student and had two days at school and three days at the agency. My boss from October was so keen on me being her personal assistant, to which she took me out for lunch and told me she wanted me to be her assistant starting January. I agreed to it, and from January I had this role till now. She was always so tough on me for making the smallest mistakes, but I had a huge work load which I always delivered and worked hard. There is another intern that she likes a lot and he doesn’t do much work and rarely yells at him. For me she’s super harsh on me and expects me to be perfect, I took a week off to focus on my thesis and she kept texting me…

I agreed to it, and from January I had this role till now. She was always so tough on me for making the smallest mistakes, but I had a huge work load which I always delivered and worked hard. There is another intern that she likes a lot and he doesn’t do much work and rarely yells at him. For me she’s super harsh on me and expects me to be perfect, I took a week off to focus on my thesis and she kept texting me asking me when I’m going to come back to work. Last week she asked me when I was done with my schooling, I told her I as done so she got happy snd was like she wanted to have lunch with me to discuss me working there full-time. I agreed and set up on the system that we would have lunch this Wednesday. The past weekend I had some personal issues which came as a shock and I had a depressive episode. I took Monday off and put it on the system, Tuesday I extended it and then texted her after work explaining my situation to whcih she was a bit rude saying it was unprofessional and not polite of me to just put it in the system. After this I noticed she cancelled our lunch together and I had a feeling. Today she called me and we had a talk and she said I know we wanted to discuss you wanting to stay but I talked to the CEO and we plan to downsize the team so we aren’t sure if we will keep you. I think it’s due to the fact that I didn’t inform her right away. I feel that it’s unfair and a bit toxic. Any thoughts on this ?
