My boss had a last minute medical emergency and was away for a few days. On Friday night, I got a call that a truck was at my job and that he would stay there overnight so I could unload him the next day.
Seeing as the trucker is a nice guy and lives a few hours away, I made the mistake of coming in at 4:45 AM instead of my scheduled 8 AM on a Saturday, just so he could get back home sooner. Ended up being there for about an hour and I went back home, which is 5 mins away.
Today I was told that I would be receiving an extra hour of pay!! Wow! 5 hours of overtime instead of 4. Super exciting. Should have just stayed my ass in bed until my scheduled time instead of trying to do everyone favors. I would have thought maybe I’d at least get an extra 2 hours for running the entire blockyard solo for the last 5 days and coming in 3 hours early another day.
I was doing shots of tequila and ended up cutting myself off early for this bullshit. Wasn’t worth it 🥺
