Fuck it. Who doesn’t embellish their work experience in an interview. We’ll teach him what he needs to know; I’m sure he’s smart enough to catch on. Besides if we don’t give him a chance who will? He has a degree from a University in India but I’m unsure how well those transfer.

I had to pick up a job at Dunkin Donuts to try and attempt to make rent. Unfortunately the heavy lifting (Huge containers of coffee, boxes) and constantly bending down to get to the under-counter fridges is a lot on me. Does anyone with back pain from work have substance-free tips for managing the pain/preventing it in the first place? I specify substance-free because I don’t want to keep downing advil and drinking to numb the pain. I’m 21 and I was healthy before this. Now I feel like I can’t move. Any tips are appreciated, thank you

I'm really beaten up all the time. I guess I'm just not tough enough. What jobs can I look for? I have stupid degrees in acting (BA and MFA) but I don't think I could handle being a teacher. Is there anything else I can look into? Super lost, a little desperate, and very very very broke.

I got a phone call today from a corporate account manager at my company (which I just put my two weeks in this last Friday). He told me that one of my accounts (I repair and maintain dish machines for the blue company -iykyk) is closing on Thursday, and we need to take our equipment out on Friday. BUT NO ONE THERE KNOWS. Why TF do these businesses expect two weeks from us (and I'm doing it to not screw over my awesome coworkers), but they can pull shit like that?

Because it shows I'm the man to go to. And I am. That's why I applied for the position you fucking ignoramus. It's also the reason I'm leaving. Because he's giving the position to someone I run circles around. I could throw shit at a wall and land a $20/hour job right now. So not only will I be leaving, I'll be giving myself a fat raise. And reducing my commute from 15 minutes to 3 minutes. Fuck retaining talent, right? I'm sure some guy off the street can replace me no problem /s (soon as an applicator needs adjusted, they can spend $1000 to send it out, because I won't be there to fix it, and nobody else knows how, especially not his precious new floor supervisor)

I just remember this happened a bit ago, right at the start of the pandemic when I had gotten laid off. I was job hunting and as a college kid naturally took anything available if it paid at least minimum wage. I got an offer to be a barista at a little coffee shop near my place. The verbal agreement was $15 at full time. I get to my “training” shift, and find out I’m just supposed to be working. I had never made a drink before! I get to work, and everything was filthy. I cleaned the espresso machine and it obviously hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. One coworker was cutting food above the dish washing sink, literally with the cutting board perched on the dirty dishes. There was mold on the sink! I was absolutely horrified and I cleaned as much as I could. At one point a…

So last September I fell at work and tore my right rotator cuff. I had surgery at the beginning of December. I’m still on medical leave. I only get 66% of my pay on workers comp, so needless to say money has been tight. Work keeps bothering me wanting payments for insurance premiums. They don’t seem to understand that even before being on medical leave my family is living paycheck to paycheck, and now even more so. The came up with the brilliant idea of cashing in pto and sick time to cover it. Hard pass on that. I’ve earned my time and I will be taking time off at some point this summer when I’m healed up. Just needed to vent.
