I work through a contracting company that rhymes with maston darter, I have 2 documents and probably more at home on my PC stating that I will be eligible for holiday pay after 30 days of employment, I started on 5/8/2023 and today I was expecting a full paycheck because of the 4th of July holiday of last week. I am missing the holiday pay and after emailing the reps they are telling that I received wrong information and that as of 2/01/2023 I am only eligible for holiday after 180 days. My first problem with that is my contract is only for 180 days, unless it is renewed I will not qualify for any holiday pay at all since I will no longer be at this job(I hope I am, even though I was hired as a contractor I hope I can get fully hired by the company as…

TL,DR- instead of signing another overpriced lease I am going to wander around Canada. If anyone has any input on finding cheap shelter & travel around Canada Hey all, I'm looking for tips, tricks, & recommendations for cheap shelter (Cheap travel methods welcomed too) while backpacking. After finishing university, yet unable to attain meaningful employment (I've applied to ≥300 jobs in the last ), I have to adapt to reality. Instead of signing another unaffordable lease & continuing the search for the mythical living wage, I'm make substantial changes. I'm going to wander around the country until I find employment, purpose, or death. I've got 12+ years of experience in the service, financial , technology, & mental health industries, 7+years post-secondary [Certificate→ HBA→ Post-Grad], & tons of other useful accomplishments/skills. I owe just over $100,000 to the govt for my education. I believed wholeheartedly that my intelligence, experience, knowledge, &…
This morning my supervisor told us we are “spending too much time away from the production line”, so if we keep doing it he will make us work longer hours on our regular shifts. He says we are welding an “unacceptable” amount of parts. He also said we were returning from break a few minutes late which has to stop. Even though he never tells us how many we're suppose to do, and the estimates the office gives us are never reasonable due to the number of welds and size of panels varying. Standing in one spot all day bent over is draining. Yesterday was our first day back on the production line after about 2 months of not having work and being in different departments. Yet kept picking at us with his shitty comments about us being tired, working slow, and using the restroom. It was giving me anxiety…

When your boss tells you he is looking for you to “step up”, what do y’all think that means?
Am I wrong about this
So I work as a housekeeper with my mom and since we have one car we have to help eachother when the other is done, but my boss wants me to clock out when this happens. I don't do that anyways since we get a room done in half the time and that would be cutting both of put checks, it shouldn't make much of a difference on her end if we don't. Today I got written up for it. Should I not clock out while I'm still working or should I play petty and just sit in the waiting room for my mom to get done, assuming my boss doesn't make a rule that we have to leave after being clocked out
