I'm 26. I got laid off a week before my birthday in Dec of last year. It was sudden and a tough blow but I thought I'd just pick myself up and start the hunt for a new job. It wouldn't be too hard, I thought. (For context, I was a full time Graphic designer/Illustrator.) Since Dec 2022 to today, I've applied to about 200 jobs, only have 1 legitimate interview (2 of them turned out to be scams), and 0 offers. I'm just so crushed and anxious every day. My unemployment benefits will run out in about 5 months and I hate myself every single day that I don't get an email about any interview/job offers. What makes it harder is that I cannot drive due to disability, so remote is my only option. I just don't know what else to do. I feel angry with my old job…

Elites want the working class to fight in WWIII, for them to be sacrificed into the meatgrinder that is war. WWI nor WWII brought an improvement to the workers, if so, we wouldn't be in the situation that we currently are at where in this generation the rich have consolidated an enormous wealth for themselves, the sacrifice they all did was in vain because it haven't brought prosperity to the current generation where having children means economic ruin, where we can't afford a house, where our rights are smashed by the rich. Now they want to manipulate us into fighting WWIII for them, don't fall for their mind tricks, that war won't bring any benefit to us whatsoever. They will try to manipulate you into fighting WWIII for them.

I’ve working for this healthcare system for two years and have consistently advocated for higher wages for my position. Now the company is doing a market adjustment and sent out an email with all of the positions who are receiving the increase… my position is not listed. In two years I’ve received a .45 cent increase… working for a billion dollar healthcare system. I directly work with patients and make $15.45 in Philadelphia, no where near a living wage. So anyways I quit.

Our store has absolutely no water due to the Walmart shutting it off, yet management insists at keeping us open despite the obvious health violations. The last picture is actually a printout that is AT OUR STORE telling us to shut down.

Note: I will be staying at this job until I find another one. Although my job is good, I hate the commute. I live in the suburbs and my job is in the city. I know plenty of people who do this kind of commute, but it’s been so draining. The trains are reliable like 70% of the time and 30% not reliable when there’s signal issues or whatever the hell it is. Driving is an option, but the traffic going to the city could take me 2 hours one way then my company doesn’t offer free parking ($12/day). I go in the office M-F 5 days a week. The pay is good, but the train price is $261/month and $80 for parking. I tried looking for towns nearby to live closer, but I hate being in or around the city. so am an cde at an international company. My boss has always said he had my back. We have milestone meetings for programs to make sure the designs are doing the right things to be successful. No program is perfect, but most of the time the engineers do the right things to prove the design will meet requirements. This company won a big program. Right from the start, this program has been a shit show. I’ve stood up many times to stop them and correct their issues. Except where There was a milestone meeting, they “forgot“ to invite me. Blamed an new employee said he didn’t know what he was doing. Except my boss still wanted me to sign off even thought I wasn’t there. I refused. I live in a medicinal cannabis state as a patient advocate. We get tipped just as servers do and at the end of our shifts our tips are split. Usually if someone left there tips behind me being the caring person put their tips to the side. Unfortunately for my case I return for mine and its been split between the people. How should I approach this situation?

I am so incredibly upset and have no idea what to do. Just a few hours ago I found out that my old employer reached out to my new one to tell them that I wasn’t a good employee for them and didn’t think I’d be good for my new employer either. I am disabled (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome) and I’m struggling enough as is. I don’t even have enough money to afford my meds or rent or utilities and now my previous employer cuts off my current source of income without warning. I hate everything about how this fucked up country works. You barely make enough money at your job and they can just fire you with no warning, leaving you with literally nothing
