I'm Canadian, from Quebec. I work for a multinational Canadian Telecom, one of the “ROBELUS” three. I've been with the company 17+ years, and while it's had it's up's and downs, it's been mostly ok. However I have noticed a concerted effort by the company to slowly degrade our jobs onshore and move them offshore (to the Philippines, India, Guatemala, El Salvador). Each successive union agreement, more jobs were lost. We just ratified a new agreement a month ago, and I thought things would be back to normal, but today that changed. First thing in the morning, my manager was hounding all team members to complete a company wide “Census” to judge engagement and I guess rate the performance of management. Something they do usually twice a year. The census is anonymous, and I thought noting of it, but that it was annoying they were trying to get it done…
Im overwhelmed by office politics and overworking till late nights. so give my resignation and they saying i need to serve two months or give a reason to exit early. what are good reasons i can say to leave?
I was trying to log into my work email account and it wouldn’t let me. Then I saw the message saying my password was changed two hours before. I know I did not change my password. I think the chances of me being hacked are low because I was also logged out of the social media account I managed. I texted the boss saying my password was changed and I was concerned (in case it was a hack), and I got no response. FYI, this behavior isn’t even from one of those tech or any other for-profit company. It’s at a nonprofit. Preparing for the worst tomorrow.
This needs context or it'll be confusing. My boss owns a sub store (SS) and a pizza place (PP), I work for both. Said boss is out of the country and has a stand in manager at SS and supervisor at PP running the places. I'm happy at the PP, while it can be stressful and a pain some days, I have fun there. I'm absolutely miserable at the SS though. Here's a few reasons why; I don't get my legal breaks for pretty much any of my shifts I work alone half of my shifts on days I close, which is stressful and feels dangerous with the amount of money in the till and because I'm a female I got laughed at by stand in manager when I brought up I don't get breaks, and offered nothing to ensure I get provided them. Felt his response was unprofessional, him…
So PWC uses insider knowledge of future tax changes in a blatant conflict of interest. They save their wealthy clients millions in avoiding future tax. Oh but don't worry: they are proposing an internal review! They will let us know what their are findings are once they have investigated themselves.
I’m an assistant manager at a cinema, and recently my boss (the general manager) decided to completely cut one of our workers shifts because he told him he couldn’t work a shift he was rostered. The casual employee (we’ll call him Fred) informed our boss that’d he’d be unable to work on a specific day, however my boss (we’ll call him Craig) rostered him on anyway. He said since Fred was the 10th and last casual to NA that day, he couldn’t have the day off, as people that “have their priorities in order” get first serve. Fred told him he really could Not work the shift, and cited Fairwork, saying that any casual employee has the right to decline a shift. Well, my boss is furious, claiming Fred’s attitude is awful, and he’s now cut ALL of his shifts. He told me he isn’t giving Fred another shift EVER…
