As the title suggests, I want to fight for legal protection for people so they’re not being terminated for absolutely no reason at all. Because employers can essentially fire without a good and substantial reason, they can go out of their way to fire you for racial, sexist, or other discriminatory reasons if they decide to choose not to explain their decision. I have a mental disability and I can’t defend myself to keep my job unless my job makes it clear that my mental disability is the absolute reason for firing me. This is insanity that we can just fire people if the wind blows in the wrong direction or if the company is losing money due to a poor economy. It’s terrible for economic reasons to even allow a company to disband employees without cause as it would take more money from the economy through social programs. Because…

Undisclosed drug screening
I had to take a physical for a job. They never specified a drug screening. I got drug screened at the physical. I am a chronic user of marijuana in a legal state. How should I proceed?
I was hired part time at a credit union early April. I told them at my final interview that I was looking for a second job to help cover finances because in this day and age, 29hrs of pay does not go a long way. I was straight forward with them. Let them know my availability will probably change once I find something. I was told that was fine as long as the credit union was priority and to just keep them up to date. I found a full time job at a pill packing place that was 4 second shifts. On paper and talking to everyone, it would work. They offered to make my schedule a month out and make it set days each week to make it easier at the credit union. I let the credit union know the offer on Thursday and they flipped. I got a…
He keeps blaming external factors (which to be fair, do play a part in it) like a lot of contracts being consistently late with payments. But it’s not that, he’s just unbelievably irresponsible with money. Being so close with him means I have a deep understanding of his finances and what he spends it on, as we do talk almost every day. 3 days into the month and he spent £4k on a literal TOY, draining not only the business but his personal funds too. To be honest I was quite taken back by this, it’s the most impulsive & unnecessary purchase I’ve ever seen So here comes the end of the month and guess what? Yeah… almost 3 weeks late. Now to add insult to injury, he’s been constantly asking to borrow money off of me throughout the month. I’ve only lent £60 but I feel like a mug…
Alright so. I've been at this job for a little more than 3 years. I work in early childhood education, and while I love the work, it is comically underpaying for how physically and emotionally demanding it is, especially for New York. There are soooo many reasons why I want out of this job, but to keep it short: I can't pay my bills, my physical health is suffering, and my family needs help with some care related to a family member. I've been wanting to leave this job for these reasons and more for a very long time, but I haven't actually quit yet because I don't have another job (despite my efforts). Lately I've been putting very minimal effort into doing the job, let alone showing up on time or even calling out properly. This mostly started happening when it became apparent that my job doesn't fire ANYBODY…
