I'm in a tough spot at work and I could really use your thoughts. I'm a student studying automation and I've been working at this automation supplier for about four months. Honestly, the company's culture sucks and I’m not learning anything, but I just don’t know if I could necessarily find another job off the bat for entry level stuff in my field. Even if I’m basically doing horizontal work, working production at a supplier rather than doing what I want to do (machine maintenance), the actual job description and company name sound good to applicant tracking software, even if I’m genuinely not doing much of anything I’d be doing otherwise, and working with very company specific parts. Beyond just that, what are some jobs that could at least put me in that general direction? I particularly want to learn more since I just genuinely don’t have the experience, but…
Hey all. I used to work for a large telecommunications company. I loved the job itself but hated the company more every day. I wanted to quit so bad but realized I needed that paycheck. I eventually did quit and found a new job but it wasn't consistent so I wasn't making a ton of money. I also thought my apartment building was getting sold and that we were all going to be told to leave after the sale. So I started looking for a new place to live and saw something that made me look twice . A little off grid community where I could pay $250 a month for rent. Utilities are not included, nor are they available. Bring in your own water, build your own solar, and shit in a porta potty. It's not luxurious, and spending a Colorado winter in an off grid camper trailer was…
I work in a facility that is absolutely reliant upon essential equipment such as radios and computers. This equipment is located on the 4th floor of the building where there just so happened to have been a massive water leak from the ceiling. All the equipment on that floor was devastatingly damaged to the point where my job is completely beyond recovery…. At least until the equipment is replaced/restored/fixed. Got a text from the facility manager (who happens to be the best manager I have ever worked with/for) that admin leave is approved because there’s absolutely no way to fulfill my duties today. Later that night got another text from the same manager…. His boss’s boss’s boss denied the admin leave, demanded everyone who didn’t work that day use their own personal vacation hours, and furthermore required everyone scheduled through the weekend to report to work anyways. We would literally…

Quit or stay?
I am currently hired on an RPO- model. The RPO is a great company and the client I am currently working for is a good client as well. However the business unit I have been assigned to is located in the most racist part of town. I am the best performer in the team yet I keep receiving the most complaints and escalations for the most ridiculous things while my peers who are performing half as good as me are having a soft life at work. It feels like there is an agenda to get rid of me. I am tired of the racism and I am looking for a new job. The issue is I don’t wanna leave my RPO employer as they are actually great. I would like to be assigned to another client within the RPO. The issue is before I can apply to another client Through…
Apologies, posting via my phone. One of my old jobs from years ago made us sign a code of conduct that we had to adhere to. My VM was a saving grace in many ways and I didn’t stick around long after she left, but the restaurant manager was a prick. Recently rereading the old CoC while organising my files, I stumbled on a section that had me going through old messages and contemplating hitting up fairwork. I’m pretty sure I got screwed on my pay as well. This man was happy to just pretend workers rights didn’t exist and if I had the attitude I do now, I’d have called him on his bs. One incident that broke the CoC, that I recalled upon reading it, was a night I had fucked my ankle on shift. I was limping so badly and I stopped to sit out the back…
