I've been put of work for a while now I fell ass backwards into my last one with my application being the only one since the company used extremely outdated methods for advertising, but I've noticed something. Ive sent out hundreds of applications most are lost in the flood as soon as the application process opens some are responded to that I was passed up or the position has been filled but the overwhelming majority of them were turn downs and when talking to some people I know work in hr specifically hiring, the ” required work experience” is always far above what's logical for the position Entry level jobs “require 3 TO 5 YEARS PROIOR EXPERIENCE” How the actual hell am I supposed to find a job to pay for college debt pay for my gas pay for my health care. I'm fucked and I'm mad about it now,…

Removing bereavement pay
Hello there, Long time lurker, first time to post here. I need some advice so I thought this would be the place. So I work for one of the biggest healthcare companies in my state. They own most of the hospitals, care facilities and many pharmacies. I work in one of their pharmacies but my job title really isn’t important to this story and to stay anonymous, I won’t say more on that. Anyway, two weeks ago on April 20th, I got a call at work that an immediate family member I was very close to suddenly passed away. This family member and the majority of my family live in another state across the country. I was distraught and left work early with my bosses permission. The next day, I wasn’t in any state to return to work and was aware of a bereavement policy my work offers. The policy…
my boss wants to put me on salary
here’s the context: i get 14 an hour, i’m 19, and i work 39h a week. i’ve been working here since january and is the easiest job i’ve had. i get no pto, 401k, no health benefits, nothing. now, my bosses, who are the store owners, are taking family leave for about a week or two since they’re having a baby. and me and my boss were talking about it, and she mentioned that they might put me on salary while they’re gone. what? did i hear that right? you want to put me on salary? me? a person who gets 14 an hour, and no benefits? if they do that, they’re doing it to avoid giving me overtime pay. so not only would i be salary for a week or two, i’d be getting more underpaid than i already am. i’m not fucking having it. i think she saw…
On the surface I found this amusing…
…but the reality is much sadder. I work as a shift lead. Yesterday I was working at a different location and I happened to be chatting with an employee. He told me his parking was expensive but he had to drive today instead of taking public transportation because his GM called him in an hour early. He told me his parking would be 17.50. Well, I had the unfortunate circumstance of explaining to this poor 17yr old that if he makes 15.50 an hour, he actually paid 2 dollars to work! I told him to ask his GM to pay his parking for today from the register, but he just it's no big deal. I said she might not like it, but she had two call outs and you saved her ass today, also I've seen receipts showing she does this for her own parking. He said he knew managers…
