Struggling to let getting fired from a bad job go

The job wasn't good; I'm not upset losing that. I'm upset with being a doormat and not standing up for myself. It was one of those moments I wish I knew about Joshua Fluke or similar YouTube channels and this subreddit. This all happened four years ago, yet everything feels like it was yesterday. My background is IT. My first boss at my first IT job is a really cool dude that always batted for me and had my back despite my lack of experience. I still talk to him sometimes to this day. However, the company was a complete dead end and I knew it was going to have to be upgraded sometime. The commute was also FUCKING HORRENDOUS. No matter what route you took, the traffic drove me mind. So I get an interview for an IT position for the county. Good pay bump and the commute was…

I am a minor about to start working in the United States, what should I know?

As the title suggests, I am a minor about to start working in the United States. I figured that this sub of all would be able to help me understand the workplace, my rights, fair pay, and how to not be taken advantage of because of my age. Mods if this doesn’t belong here, remove it. Thank you! I’ll be happy to provide any necessary information.

Would you help a manager who is really stupid or let them fail?

If a manager you have to work with is really stupid, would you help them or let them fail? If you help them, it seems all you achieve is keep an incompetent person in their job undeservedly, who will only waste your time and you'll get nothing out of it except have to deal with more stupidity.

How to deal with burnout?

Im feeling extremely burnt out. I've been working at the same retail store for two years now, never gotten a raise. For the last, idk 6 months, I've been working 5 shifts a week, all about 4 to 6 hours. My partner moved in with me in the fall and has been struggling in the job search, the anxiety is weighing on both of us. I havent had the money to do anything fun in months, and haven't had the time or energy either. I never get multiple days off in a row, I spend all my time working and my only free days grocery shopping. All my money goes towards groceries etc. I just miss doing…things. not work related, not shopping for food or pet supplies, etc. My mind is constantly on work, job searching, if im gonna be able to afford food or monthly payments. I'm trying to…

They think I am Anti-Transgender

So I’ve started a new job and I am working alongside someone in my team who is a transgender. As part of the introduction meeting I was asked for my pronouns with the rest of team, I told them I do not believe in stating pronouns and I am offended for being asked this because I am evidently a grown adult Man. This seems to have offended the transgender who is clearly a biological male identifying as a women with the She/her pronouns. I received a call today from my manager suggesting I should be more inclusive. I am really annoyed with the world man. why am I being told to believe in something I don’t believe in? I didn’t target him or say anything particularly offensive.

Investigating a union, what is it like to work for one? Questions and worries

I've only ever worked at two places; a grocery store and a warehouse. My current job is not the most pleasant, I can't even afford rent. But it is a steady paycheck and the job is easy with over 15 USD an hour. Or 34k before taxes. Recently, I decided to google if there were any unions nearby that I could potentially work for. There is. Specifically one called IBEW or the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. It caught my interest and I was curious for answers I couldn't find on my own, like the post title says: What is it like to work for a union? How much does a union typically pay new employees? The IBEW has an apprenticeship thing that last for 5 years. (idk how common that might be) But has no pay listed anywhere. A google search gave me numbers from 40k up to 60k.…
