Recently took a job with FedEx as a delivery driver, and in the first week alone they asked me to work 6 days straight pulling 11-12 hour shifts

Hi all I wanted to get some insight from others on my situation. I started my career about 15 years ago and in my first job of three years, I had a terrible manager. I was constantly micro managed and bullied to a point where I felt I couldn't bring myself to go to work. It was so bad that my friends and family told me to save emails and any correspondence to protect myself should any further action be taken. An example includes my manager calling me 15minutes before my start time of 9am asking why I'm not in the office. I would say I'm round the corner and will be in there just before 9. He would say it's unacceptable and that you would need to be logged on and ready to start working at 9 on the dot. Being my first job at the time, I did…
Boomer gets it.
This happened in the spring of 2022. I will never forget this moment. I was working at a retail store as a cashier and was helping two of my co-workers check out. I was innocently joking with them as I am very close to them. A store coordinator was also cashiering next to me. They heard me joking and got upset out of nowhere. They threatened to send me to the office to “sit down.” I couldn’t believe what I just heard. Me, a 20-year-old man, was threatened to put in timeout like I’m 7. I told the main manager about the situation and of course they did nothing. I quit shortly after because I couldn’t handle it anymore.
I guess I came here to vent in the hopes that someone can give me some advice maybe. I want someone to challenge me on my beliefs, and if you reaffirm my position, I expect a very good argument from you (although this is anti-work so I can assume what the bias is going to be). I'm a high school senior, and all of my peers are talking about which college they are going to/applied to. However, I have been really considering not going to college because it just seems like so much work. I know it just sounds lazy to say that it is “too much work” but allow me to explain a little bit. I would rather go to a junior college or enter the workforce directly and work a more physical labor oriented job than an abstract corporate job. A bachelor's degree on average takes about 4-5…
Quit After Two Weeks
I quit my first job at a fast food place after only two weeks of working there. I absolutely hated it from the start and told myself I would never get involved with fast food but due to lack of other people being interested in hiring me I took my last resort. I’m in college full time as well and I just feel like I should had maybe stayed even tho I hated it. I am left feeling like I failed and should be doing more, not to mention what others will think once I tell them I already quit. I am also working on trying to find another job that would better suit me. Was I crazy for leaving?
How do i proceed?(advice needed)
I just started at a specific fast food franchise a little over two weeks ago, I was given very little training and expected to pull 40+ hours(basically 40 + overtime but since I don’t have a way to to track exactly my hours I don’t have the exact math) I mainly do one of 2 positions frys or carrier however, I’m expected to pretty much cash out bag and a lot of the time also do fries, while again being new. If ask anyone else for assistance sandwiches/front counter(we maybe get someone every half an hour there with occasional rushes) or even ask any questions I’m either mocked and bullied or just ignored all together. There’s one specific person(who’s very much a grown adult man old enough to have 4+ kids) who is normally on front counter(refuses to do anything else even when not having any customers at all) who’s…

I’m a HS teacher. We have had one heck of a week. Credible info regarding a possible violent act at our school led to 2 of my students being suspended until further decisions regarding their safety and the safety of the students on campus are made. The next day, three of my students showed up high and out of their minds. One of those students was found to have a knife in his bag. All 3 of them are in hot water. I have a kid whose parents refuse to recognize that we are doing everything in our power to help her daughter, but her daughter is so scared of her own shadow and stressed to the max that no one can really help her. We are preparing for a meeting, but I have been warned that the mom is targeting me and will be taking her frustration out on…
