I’ve been a part of the FIRE group for a while now and recently joined here. I’m just wondering how much crossover do these two groups have? Where do the goals/ ideals differ between the two? Are some people trying to FIRE because they’re anti work?

I have a great job, with decent pay, hours and am treated well, yet for the life of me can’t describe why I day dream every day about leaving it and going travelling or doing something else. This has happened with every job I’ve had. It’s almost like the job feels like a constraint/prison and as though it deletes my personality and drains my energy. Does anyone else feel like this? I’ve tried to explain it to other people and they just look at me weird.
