Hi yall! So like the post title, i was recently hired by one of those free standing medical clinicals back in late december and onboarded early january. I had concerns when interviewing that the position didnt make sense. They needed techs for overnight shift 11p-7a x5 days. I asked the manager what the patient volume was like and he said maybe 1-2 patients per night. The position paid well and i thought to myself if the patient load doesnt justify the position, this was weird to be hiring. I was assured by the manager everything was on the up and up and they were growing and opening new locations, therfore no reasons to be suspicious. Red flag there but i accepted anyway. Received an email today from the CFO of the company I haven’t worked for since September. Explaining updates to the 401k, wanting to keep me in the loop because I still have the account. I responded with that I soon will be cashing it in as it is one of the last ties I have to the company. Then I said that I would be looking to sell the stock as well so I will be completely severed from the company. He responds with thanks and pleasantries, then asks where I went after leaving them. I respond, “actually…. I didn’t leave you. According to the state I was wrongfully terminated. But, I turned down an offer at ‘company name’ so I could be closer to home since my my oldest needs me. The CEO had brought in his 5 year old and apparently said to him (he was bragging afterward) he can come to work with him only if he fired somebody. Im there in case the poor son of a bitch has a melt down which I saw as very possible given the circumstances. Sure enough in walks this mid level engineer and the kid fires him and laughs from behind the desk. The poor guy just looked dead and I escorted him out. Imagine getting your degree, getting a house/mortgage, a family, and in his 40s! Then BOOM fired by a 5 year old.

I applied at 3 different dealerships. A Lincoln ford dealer, a dodge jeep dealer, and a more general dealer. I was wondering if I should haggle with the offers? I live in ms which is a right to work state so i don’t sign any contracts for definitive terms of employment.

So I work part-time, around 22 hours a week. My recent period included 2 instances where I worked over 8 hours. I was not paid overtime. Payroll says I am not entitled because I work less than 35 hours a week, even tho I did work those 9+ hour shifts. Is this correct? Thanks.

hey so i know this isn’t quite the right place to ask this, but i’m not sure where to go and i figured y’all might be able to help me out or at least point me in the right direction. to pay rent for my apartment, i use “Rent Cafe”. i went to pay for my second month of rent (i successfully paid the first month by linking my bank account and paying directly from my account) and my bank account is no longer attached…not only that, but a ENTIRELY random bank account is attached instead. it is not my roommates, a family members, my roommates family members, a past tenant, etc. etc. i have absolutely no idea who it belongs to. that being said, i have the capability to charge my full rent to this random persons bank account… this is incredibly unnerving and feels negligent and maybe even…

How are you supposed to become a supervisor when every job looking for a supervisor requires years of experience being a supervisor? I have 12 years of experience in the industry yet employers look past that because I've never held the title of supervisor eventhough I've lead teams…
