I’m resigning from my role and asking for a severance in exchange for not starting a legal claim. My manager had been sabotaging my work performance and I documented it. I confronted her after 2 months of documented behavior and the same day she put me on a PIP. I’ve only been in my role for 2 months. What would be a fair severance ask? TC 95K

Not sure if this fits in this sub, but i work from home for a call center. I can see other agents in the “available” mode but it lets them be in there for like an hour at a time whereas I get a call every few minutes. Is there something that they are doing that I can try so I can relax a bit? Or is it just a system error?
When I say sudden, I mean getting a notification of schedule change two days before the next work week starts after already having the schedule for a week and a half… Reason? Budget cuts from corporate. Already applying to another job, I’m not even sure if I’m going to give notice at this point. If they aren’t going to give me a considerate notice that I’d be out of work for almost three weeks straight, then why should I give them notice that I’m leaving? I am technically part time but have been working over time due to call outs and quitting (not surprised with the low employee retention and high turnover atp). But suddenly after having my schedule for this week already for over a week, they change it on a Saturday night and take all my hours. Not even just me, but three of my other coworkers that…
DO NOT “gossip about compensation”
received a bs message from our firm’s leadership asking us to not share details about our yearly bonus compensation. can this legally be enforced? some highlights: “we all lose when we gossip about compensation” “one of you will come away upset” “thanks for your help on this”
Three weeks ago I started a daycare job as an assistant pre todds teacher and we have the first week without our main teacher since she quit. I’m working with two other teachers and one of the teachers I work with is bothering me lately. She’s a nice person but does stuff like this. 1) not doing her job and when I tell her she has to do it, she looks at me like I’m supposed to do it despite several people telling her, it’s her job 2) blaming me for a kids breakfast not being feed when the kid refused to eat and I put a note saying their child didn’t eat 3) I volunteered to clean the bibs but since it’s my break I left them out and was hoping she would do them but she wants me to do it when I get back. The daycare I…
It seems everywhere I look nowadays it's people talking about the economy sucks, people are tired of working for chump change and overall calling for a better work life for the people. But i'm afraid it might be a placebo effect. I want things to change. I'm angsty about it. I WANT to have a child but the one thing that isn't ticked off on my list yet is being able to be financially stable with room to do activities and things I want. It is the only thing holding me back from having a child but I can't and I won't bring one into this world just for them to barely scrape on by. I'm not sure if things are actually starting to look up or if it's the algorithm just pushing those things to the surface while in reality it's not even a topic of the common people.…
Of course this varies on a boss-to-boss basis, but one technique I had success with was responding to ridiculous demands with a silent stare that also says “I am having a violent fantasy in my brain about you right now” and my boss really started softening up after that. The thing is you don't even have to have the violent fantasy, you just have to convince your boss that you might want to murder them. This works especially well if you are large or menacing.
I just got fired today
So a little background, I’ve been looking around for a new job recently and begun the hiring process with a separate employer. This prospective employer requires you to do a physical as part of the hiring process. I had the physical scheduled for yesterday, problem was that I had to work. I spoke to my manager about it the day prior and told him I had a doctors appointment at 10 am. I said that I had to get some blood work done and I wasn’t looking forward to it since we were just chitchatting and he said it was cool if I came to work for a little bit, went to my appointment, then come back. He was under the impression apparently that I had ONLY just blood work to do from that conversation. I only brought up blood work because I wasn’t happy having to get blood drawn…
No Bonus After Hitting Revenue Goals
So I work at a large tech company in California and we recently let a few thousand people go via layoffs. We reported to share holders about our revised revenue goals that were lower than projections and proceeded to hit those goals. Shortly after we were told we would not receive our mid year bonus due to having lower revenue, even though the executives changed them. I officially hate corporate America and I fully support bare minimum mondays and every other day for that matter.
