I work at Starbucks. I'm not going to work with an injury to the point of me needing to take a week off instead of a day. I promise you this job isn't that serious. Also, I didn't call out. I showed up, tried for two hours, felt my legs going numb and nausea from the back pain, and told her I needed to go home before it worsens. The amount of eye rolls I got from her was insane.. What capitalistic nightmare is this?

Dealing with Exclusion
This is a fast food job. Nothing special, it pays the bill. However, as with most jobs like this, there are cliques and favoritism. I’m not there to make friends, I’m there to work. It’s just miserable to come in to a job where ABSOLUTELY no one says hi to me, asks about my weekend/evening/etc. Whatever, I got used to being ignored and just did my job. Today, though… today really just my feelings. They handed out Valentine’s with individually boxed cakes to everyone… except for me. They looked me in the eye and just shrugged. THAT hurt. I just told my manager I threw up and walked out. I’m dreading going in tomorrow because I know they will have a sit down (my fifth one, ya know). I’ve applied for many jobs, I am in college, just kind of sucks having to work where I’m obviously not wanted. How…
I resigned this morning. It's a construction scheduling position for a cabinet company. Those who know, know scheduling is of the essence in construction projects. There are a million moving parts that must be addressed in every conversation. I have 12+ years of experience as admin support for general and subcontractors for reference. The Access software they use is not user friendly, but I have no problem learning old tricks. In fact, I am used to working with janky software. There are 20+ fields of info across several pages (per project) to analyze before being able to communicate the correct answer to a customer who is live, on the phone line. Stressful. I have been training on very specific regulations such as “Mike can't work for retail customers, or any job that's too complicated. Joe can only do tear-outs and is unavailable Wed-Fri. Andy can do any job but won't…
Was rated exceeds – got a 4% raise
The title basically I did bust my ass last year because I like producing quality work but no more. Fuck this. The difference between the 2% average raise everyone got and the 4% I got is not worth all the extra time and effort I put in
Super helpful video on how to Unionize!
about to quit my job!!!! yay!!!!
Got a job fair tomorrow afternoon and looking to work at a local company that builds things mostly parts for jet engines. well I am hoping it goes well not sure what to expect from entry level work or how much pay will be but my hope is the hours are consistent, the pay is good and the benefits are as good as my buddies say they are.
Corporate greed and capitalism
I am currently unemployed because the company I worked for was acquired by another and that company severed all customer service positions, opting instead to use automation. I was paid severance and took a couple of months off for the holidays, as my husband was working and had paid holidays. I have been looking for a job since early January and have not had much luck. Today, I was invited to complete a text interview and told that the pay was $12 per hour plus commission. They asked if I was comfortable with this. I told them it was far too low and ended the interview. I just looked up their net worth and this is what I found: [Company] has a market cap or net worth of $30.37 billion. The enterprise value is $34.47 billion. Fuck capitalism and corporate greed. I was making $18 per hour without any need to…
