Did a side hustle with a Health care company that just ghosted me when the pandemic hit. ( Well known home care company) Got a call two weeks ago from their recruiter who wanted to see if I was interested in being reactivated and that there would be a “bonus” after I worked 40 hours.
Start going through the process and I quickly figure out that all their front office staff is staffed by interns, which is why I can never get a straight answer to some basic questions, specifically the ones regarding pay.
So fast forward this week, after assuming that the pay scale is the same for said side job that I used to do, I discover that this office has a pay rate 50% lower for the work I did in 2019.
After emailing the intern and provided evidence of this disparity in pay I receive a call from someone in authority who tries to explain that they pay an hourly rate for the work as opposed to the flat rate per job I used to receive at the other office.
Mind you this isn't an offer from another company that I am asking them to match. They recruited me, this is the rate from another office ten miles down the road, within their own company, and they can't even bring themselves to say that there is a discrepancy, they think the issue is that I cannot comprehend basic fucking math.
Needless to say, I officially resigned before I even got started again.
