I remember working in a clothing store Burlington and that store was a nightmare. Imagine Walmart but instead of actual good products it's just random clothing, clothing accessories and knockoff electronics with it's demographic being 70% old people past 50 years old or mostly women. I imagine this is the usually the case for most clothing stores. You'll deal with the worst customers you can imagine seriously, not even delivering packages was this bad and fast considering that there's always 100-300 people for hour depending on the month. You had to write up credit cards and promote them to the customers like it was Gamestop then lecture the customers to donate and feel bad so the company can get a tax write off with those donations. Then singing up a credit card was the worst part as well, you had to write a whole Manifesto with their name, SSN, maiden name, address, workplace, etc. Then you also had to carry a dumb belt radio that either didn't work or was broken so you can't carry it on your belt. Wanna know the best parts though? You only got $9 an hour with no benefits since it's seasonal and you have only 2 breaks during your 8 hour shift. I met a guy who came from the military and i'm pretty sure the military treated him better. Then after each day the management would say “If you show us great spirit and teamwork, you'll get full time after seasonal ends”. Then closing the doors when it was closing time, ignoring the fact your shift ended at 10 PM. So you had to track down security and tell them to open the damn door. Then if you were to stay till 11 PM, you had to clean the whole store that had a pile of shoes or clothes in a corner with no tags and random hangers. I quit after the first month of that Seasonal scam.
The discount you got from working there was mediocre as well 15% off when most items there were $20 and up. This was years ago however it's still relevant today sadly however now you get a 1.50 pay increase.
