I have got the serious Sunday sads.

I took last week off just to get caught up at my home because I moved recently and to do some doctor's appointments. It's been a productive week, but now it is Sunday and I am so dreading going back tomorrow. And my job isn't even that bad. I work from home and they don't track our keystrokes or anything–it's just the fucking time–9 damn hours a day when i have to be doing shit related to work. I take breaks when I need to but that laptop is still sitting there, like a ticking bomb. And it's a thinking-heavy job so my brain is pretty much mush by the end of it. This past week was almost just enough time to recover and start feeling like myself again. Just a rant. But thinking of the many people like me across the country makes me realize how unsustainable this system…

Just a rant. But thinking of the many people like me across the country makes me realize how unsustainable this system is. My job doesn't give COL raises (and raises only come with a promotion) so even though my pay is enough to live on and even save a little sometimes, I have no real motivation to improve my performance. I have no ambition to be promoted–I like what I do well enough, but it is demoralizing to know I am not valued enough that they won't reward my time here. Just another cog in the capitalist machine. I figured it out once and three days of labor from me–for which I am paid around 600, generates 20,000 profit for the company (i did the math).

Sigh. Sorry for the bummer post. Just wanting to vent a bit.
